A recycled take out container

I decided to use this recycled pie holder as a Christmas container! I thought it would be perfect for cookies or fudge for the mailman or a neighbor this Christmas. It probably took about 5 minutes to make! The patterned paper is from SEI the ss is Everlasting Life from CTMH, flourish is from ZVA and the gold bunch of stuff is a $1.00 Christmas pick from Wal-mart and the beautiful ribbon is from Offray, which by the way I have since fixed and fluffed the ribbon. Simple, inexpensive and can be filled with some homemade goodness!

Happy Halloween-H2H Challenge

It's Monday again and time for another H2H challenge, this week we are asking you to make something for Halloween or something with pumpkins. After you create your project using mostly CTMH products just go to the H2H blog and add your creation, you are also going to see what the rest of the design team came up with for this week. I decided to use a recycled "Dinosaur" barbeque sauce bottle and fill it with candy corn. I don't really have any Halloween stamps or paper so I used the "You Rock" paper which worked perfectly and the "Who Loves Ya", "Tasty Treats", and "Holiday Hoopla". I also used multiple sizes of Nestabilities dies and I used MFT'S fresh cut grass die to cut the grass out of felt. I added the little googly eyes for fun and I used twill ribbon a button and black hemp. Who knew it could be so fun to recycle? I think I save every container from everthing I get just in case!

Adventures in homeschooling and the wild

Good morning, today I wanted to share some pictures from what has been going on around here lately. First there are pictures from our "Story walk" field trip we went on last Thursday, we went to our local DEC about 5 minutes from our house, they have a 99 acre park open to the public filled with hiking trails, a fishing pond, a canal, an observation tower, and there are tons of trees, plants, and flowers all labeled by name. This place is a treasure trove for anyone but especially the homeschooler! Well our local public library where I hold my card classes set up a "Story walk" there, they photocopied and laminated and strategically(maybe) placed along the hiking trail pages of the book entitled Deep In The Swamp. We had a great day and the kids learned about a ton of variety of trees! Yesterday we went to our rag doll making class at my friend Aubrey's house it was so much fun and a great chance for the kids to play with other kids, and her boys were great and played with my boys and did a building project with them. Then lastly my kids have been watching Man vs Wild from Netflix lately and they have been putting their newly learned info to use, and they went behind the garage and built a shelter and they have been making traps and tripwires. It is so funny they are so creative and I don't doubt could actually live in the wild!

A bird cage gift set

I saw this great post the other day from the super talented Becca Feeken over at Amazing Paper Grace about a little bird cage from Michaels that she put cards in. Then I found very similar ones at my Michaels for just a buck, so I had to buy a few! This was super quick and easy and I just whipped up 5 2.5"x2.5" cards for the inside andded a little ribbon and a flower and voila a cute little gift set! Well that's it for now I spent the day at my friend Aubrey's house for a craft day, Elaina learned how to make a rag doll-so cute, but now I have to get ready for a card class I am teaching at the library tonight- have a good night!

Well it seems like forever since I have got to do Jen DelMuro's Sketch For You To Try found here. I just have been so busy lately, anywho I loved this weeks sketch and it just so happened I had to make a card for it! Please excuse my pictures they have just been really bad lately and I am always in a hurry it seems. For this card I used new Making Memories"Noel" paper it's oh so pretty and that lovely oval frame is also Making Memories. The little stamped sowman is from a cheapy stamp from Wal-mart but I just love the vintagy feel of him. If you get a chance you should really check out Jen's site it is a great challenge and she has an awesome design team. Enough with the chit-chat here is my card

Aspen Snowflake Heart 2 Heart

It's Monday and you know what that means, it's time for another Heart 2 Heart Challenge! This week the challenge is to use embossing on your project either heat or dry embossing. All you have to do to play along with us at H2H is just make a project that uses embossing and mostly CTMH products and then go to the H2H Blog and link up your project. You just might be chosen as one of the Friday Five and be featured on the blog and get a great badge for your blog sidebar! For this card I decided to use our new 4 1/2 " circle cards in Colonial White(item #z1352) and Aspen Level 2 paper pack(x7103B) I also used the "Flurry" Dimensional Elements(z1225) only $4.95 for a 9x12" sheet of sturdy white chipboard, new licorice Opaques lovely little pearls(Z1335) $2.95 for 108 pearls in 4 sizes and Prisma Glitter(Z134) and clear embossing powder(Z821).I actually ran my snowflake through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder for dry embossing and then I ran my brayer onto my Versa Mark ink pad and then ran it over my snowflake and then mixed clear detail embossing powder and Prisma glitter together and dumped it over the top and then set it with my heat gun. It does not photograph well but in person my snowflake is shiny and sparkling and oh so pretty! For more inspiration check out what the rest of the H2H design team came up with, their links can be found on my side bar! So get out your embossing supplies and let's see what you can come up with!

Another Verve sketch card

Here is my card for another one of the amazing sketches from Verve for the world cardmaking day release challenge which you can find here. I loved this sketch and I used Cosmos "Mitten Weather' paper, I am loving the purples in this paper pack, the stamp set is Percy from H&M stamps(unavailable). I put Prisma glitter(CTMH item #z134) all over the snowman and background and put fun flock(CTMH item #z263)on the penguins belly so it's fuzzy. I don't think it photographed well though. I also used some pearls, button brads, wire rimmed ribbon(Michaels) and a snowflake button. I made another card as well but the liquid glass was not dry so I have not taken a picture yet I will post that in the morning!
